Optical sensing systems and devices at the National Centre for Sensor Research (NCSR) in Ireland
Dr Claire Davis
NCSR, Dublin, Ireland, (now at DSTO, Fishermans Bend)
3.30pm, Friday 31 May 2002, Seminar Room (AR103), Graduate Research Centre, Swinburne
The NCSR research programme is focused on the emerging themes which will define sensors and their
applications in the early decades of the new millennium. It deals mainly with problems of significant societal concern, e.g.,
medical diagnostics, food quality assurance and environmental monitoring. One of the main areas of activity for the NCSR is in
the development of novel optical sensors, in particular, the miniaturisation of optical sensing principles for new applications.
This talk will focus on the design and development of some of these new sensors and their applications.
