Biography

 A/Professor Chandana Hewege is a Principal Fellow of the Advance Higher Education Academy (UK) and holds a PhD in Management from the Monash University, a Master of Business Administration Degree and a BSc.(Bus Admn) Honours Degree from the University of Sri J'pura, Sri Lanka.  Chandana's academic and professional experiences are predominantly centred on teaching, research and industry consultancy. 
 Chandana is a founding member of the team that pioneered Carbon Literacy Training for academics in Victoria, Australia. Apart from being a carbon literate academic and a trainer accredited by the UN's Carbon Literacy Project (UK), Chandana has published widely in reputed academic journals. Chandana’s academic research encompasses a wide spectrum of research areas such as corporate social responsibility and sustainability, management controls of transitional economies, marketing, logistics, international business and research methodology. He has published research papers in Journal of International Business Education, Critical Perspectives on International Business, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, Social Responsibility Journal, Accounting Auditing,& Accountability Journal, Yong Consumers, Journal of consumer Behaviour, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Australasian Marketing Journal, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, Journal of Consumer Marketing, International Journal of Work Organisation and Emotion, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Journal of Marketing and Logistics, and Sustainability.

Chandana has won several awards for his academic and research excellence, including 2023 Australian Business Deans(ABDC) award for climate action, Vice Chancellor's Accountability Award (2023) for Climate action.; Emerald Literati Award-Social Responsibility Journal 2017 & Sustainability Accounting Management and Policy journal-2022; the Teaching Excellence Award by the Faculty of Business & Law, Swinburne University of Technology: Wiley top cited article 2021-Journal of Consumer Behaviour ;Chandana served the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) journal ranking panel in 2013 for Marketing, Tourism, Logistics and commercial services research areas. 

Chandana contributes to industry in the corporate and academic governance space as an external board member/chair or boards, actively engaging with membership activities of Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
