BIO
Dr. Dina Lahanis is an accomplished educator spesialising in financial accounting, company accounting, management accounting, and financial statistics, utilising Excel and Python. She delivers these programs both on-campus and online at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dina has also imparted her knowledge internationally, teaching at universities in Indonesia and Swinburne-partnered institutions in Singapore and China. Her innovative teaching methods earned her the prestigious Excellent International Teaching Award from the Australia Education Management Group (AEMG), selected from among 20 university partners across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK involved in the Teaching Visit Program in China.
Dina holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of South Australia, where her research focused on applying accounting concepts and techniques to corporate carbon strategies and management practices. Her expertise in carbon credit valuation and carbon trading mechanisms has led to invitations to share her insights with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) office in Germany. Dina has delivered numerous invited and plenary talks at conferences and universities worldwide, including in Indonesia, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, and the USA. Dina’s international collaborations are a cornerstone of her career. She has authored influential assessments on carbon accounting and management, providing policy recommendations and guidance. Recognised for her significant academic contributions, Dina was one of 55 scholars awarded the Indonesian Diaspora – World Class Scholar by the Indonesian government, highlighting her solid academic record and impactful contributions to Indonesia’s scientific community.
Dina’s research interests encompass the effects of carbon emissions trading on business strategy and reporting, sustainable business practices, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and local actions towards achieving net-zero. She has supervised research theses at Honours, Master, and PhD levels and has published in refereed journals on topics related to accounting, carbon management, and disclosures. Additionally, Dina serves as an Ethics Adviser and is a member of the Swinburne Human Ethics Subcommittee. Dina is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ),
