Dr John Webster
Biography
Dr John Webster is a Lecturer in the Accounting Economics & Finance Department at Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to joining Swinburne, John worked at Monash University for 14 years as a lecturer. John is a passionate educator, having received multiple awards for teaching and academic excellence. John holds a BCom (Hons), BBus(Acc), BBus(B&F), and PhD from Monash University, where he graduated top student in all four tertiary endeavours. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), American Accounting Association (AAA), and the European Accounting Association (EAA).
John also previously worked as a graduate accountant at PwC in its Transaction Services division.
John is also passionate about leadership and professional development, which is evidenced by his selection in the 2018-19 Committee for Melbourne’s Future Focus Group, as well as establishing both Swinburne and Monash’s student leadership programs - Beta Alpha Psi.
