BIO
A/Prof. Jeremy Brown joined the Swinburne University of Technology in 2023 to establish a new research program in Applied Nuclear Physics. This research program focuses on a number of different topics that includes imaging physics, Monte Carlo radiation transport modelling, nuclear safety and security, radiation instrumentation, radiotherapy/radiobiology, and space science. Jeremy has a strong interest in developing research projects in collaboration with clinical, industry, and government partners both within Australia and internationally.
After completing his PhD at Monash University (Australia) in imaging physics, Jeremy undertook a postdoc in radiobiology at Queen's University Belfast (Northern Ireland) [2015-2016] before shifting to the Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) [2017-2021] to secure a Dutch Research Council (NWO) Veni Fellowship developing novel medical imaging technology in collaboration with Philips Healthcare (Germany/Netherlands). He has also held Research Scientist position at both of Australia's major nuclear physics research labs (ARPANSA [2007-2009] and ANSTO [2021-2022]), and collaborates with/received support from world leading industry partners (Broadcom Inc., Varian Medical System [a Siemens Healthineers Company], etc.) and international research agencies (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique [CNRS] and European Space Agency [ESA]).
