Biography

Peter Marcato has been teaching broadcast subjects to undergraduate and post-graduate students at Swinburne University for more than a decade. Having started in the media industry at the age of 15, Peter has achieved a wide body of work, across a number of different outlets. Peter worked as a general newsreader and reporter on the Triple M network and was also the voice of M-Sport for a number of years. In addition to his work at Swinburne, Peter works as a fill-in on-air presenter at 1116 SEN, hosting various programs. He also runs his own business, BPM Media, which specialises in online sports broadcasting and podcasting. Despite being able to provide content across a variety of radio styles
(music/talkback/news), Peter’s current focus is on sports broadcasting.

In January, Peter provides commentary for the Hopman Cup on Channel 7, and is a leading commentator for AO Radio during the Australian Open as well as the television world feed run by Tennis Australia. He travels to Paris each year to provide French Open Commentary for an American TV broadcaster and to Wimbledon to work as a commentator on Live @ Wimbledon Radio. Peter has also worked with ABC Television, providing commentary for the VFL and WNBL.
