BIO

Therese has more than 25 years of experience teaching film and media studies at universities in Australia. Her collaborative research has shaped new understandings of Australian cinema and Indigenous Australian screen media. She is co-author of Australian Cinema After Mabo (2004), author of The Face on the Screen: Death, Recognition and Spectatorship (2004), and co-producer of Australian Indigenous Film and Television Knowledge Sharing platform (aiftv-research.net) (2018). She is a co-recipient of three Australian Research Council Discovery grants. Over many years, she has demonstrated commitment to principles of equity and diversity in universities through inclusive education approaches, cross-cultural collaborative research, and engagement with community and cultural organisations. She is Chair of Melbourne Women and Film Festival (MWFF) Board.
