Our program

The Computing Techologies Capstone and WIL Project Program offers organisations the opportunity to collaborate with academics and students to develop and test innovative solutions.

Projects are co-designed to address real industry challenges, with work conducted on-site or at the university, depending on requirements.

How does the program work?

  • Step 1

    Proposal form

Complete and submit the project proposal form, ensuring all required fields are filled out accurately and attaching any necessary supporting documents.

  • Step 2

    Assessment Design

Discuss with the academic (unit convenor or project coordinator) to co-design the assessment.

  • Step 3

    Agreement

Finalise and sign the project agreement between the organisation, students, and academic, ensuring all parties understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations before proceeding.

  • Step 4

    Student Engagement

Initiate and engage with students on the project, providing guidance, setting expectations, and fostering collaboration to ensure a successful outcome

Project aims

We aim to address a real-world technology problem and provide organisations access to talents of the emerging workforce creating exploratory findings or design, prototype or proof of concepts which may involve experiments, user studies, and implementation of algorithms in the field of AI, cyber security, data science, robotics, IoT and software engineering.

We offer flexible engagement and access to talents of various fields. Moreover, the IP developed through the project is owned by the business at the completion of the project.

Timelines

The program runs for approximately 4 months, where co-design starts before the semester begins and hand over is done towards the end of the semester. For larger scoped projects, it can take up two semesters, where partial deliverables are completed in the first semester.
