How credit points work

MathsLink: General (MTH00008) is a bridging program for VCE students who have not completed Units 3 and 4  level Mathematics.

Swinburne has a variety of aviation, information and communication technology, science, education and health scienceengineering courses which list Year 12 Mathematics as a prerequisite for entrance. For students who are interested in studying one of these courses, but do not have the mathematics prerequisite, Swinburne’s MathsLink: General program may be able to help.

The modules for MathsLink: General are:

  • data analysis
  • business-related mathematics
  • graphs and relations
  • geometry and trigonometry.

It is expected that students will spend a minimum of 12-16 hours a week studying MathsLink: General in order to fully comprehend each module. Covering this content in a short teaching period is challenging and students will need to ensure that they keep up with the workload.
