Our Lead Auditor Training course gives you the skills and knowledge to become a quality auditor.
This course is ideal for practitioners who have an understanding of quality management and for those who have been, or will become, involved in internal quality assurance audits.
Upon completion, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of techniques and methodologies required to effectively audit a quality management system and be able adapt your new skills to any auditing process.
This is a nationally approved vocational course that is recognised throughout Australia.

Our Live Online delivery
Our Live Online delivery is a dynamic, engaging and interactive way to learn remotely. It’s just like face-to-face but with the added benefits of digital technology. Your facilitator will present in real-time, and you will be able to participate in group discussions and collaborate on exercises and group activities using our interactive platforms.

Participants should be familiar with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 19011:2003, AS/NZS 9004 and AS/NZS 4801.
Credit transfer
Credit transfer is the recognition of academic credits gained through formal study (i.e. units of competency) completed either at another institute or in another qualification. The total amount of credit will vary from individual to individual, based on the unit/s that have been successfully completed.
Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process of transferring the skills and knowledge that you have acquired over your lifetime (irrespective of how they were obtained) against the requirements of the unit.
RPL is an assessment process that requires you to provide evidence that demonstrates how you meet the requirements of the unit/s. The amount and types of evidence you will need to provide will depend on the unit requirements.

Course delivery
Please note that this course covers both the requirements specific to Quality Management and Occupational Health and Safety management system audits. You will also learn the skills to effectively lead a team of auditors, and the course will provide you with a solid knowledge of planning and conducting management system audits.
Blended delivery (Face-to-face and Live Online)
Some workshops in this program are delivered face-to-face at the Hawthorn (Melbourne) campus while the rest are delivered Live Online. See details of the delivery.

Workplace delivery
This course (or units from it) can be tailored to industry delivery within the workplace for groups of eight or more students. Students may enrol in the course at any stage during the year. Students have the chance to select from a range of dates for elective units to determine the duration of their course.
Assessment
The 5-day Lead Auditor cluster is assessed through written knowledge questions and a series of assessment activities conducted within the training room and Live Online delivery.

Fees are assessed according to actual study load each semester, with variations to study load resulting in tuition fee adjustments. These fees generally include the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and are subject to annual review. Enrolled students will receive reasonable notice of any fee changes before payment is due.
How do I pay my fees?
You can pay your Swinburne fees in person, via credit card, BPAY, or at Australia Post. Check to see if loans and employer sponsored training are also available.
International students need to pay tuition fees up-front by the relevant due date. You can find the due dates on your Statement of Account.
