Science Workshops

Who helps our gardens grow? Discover the recyclers, pollinators and other wonderful mini-beasts hidden in our gardens.

(Prep - Grade 2; Grades 3 - 6)

Track down the stolen dinosaur eggs using fingerprints, footprints and fibre analysis. (Clues are the same both days but Senior activities are more advanced.)

(Junior: Prep - Grade 1; Grades 1 - 2)

Get out our toys and learn about pushes, pulls, friction, gravity and tension in this physics lesson for beginners.

(Prep - Grade 1; Grades 1 - 2)

Explore the world of plastics! Make your own, test properties and discover more about these useful materials. 

(Grades 3 - 4;  5 - 6)

Use hands-on activities to understand the physics of electricity generation and to explore renewable energy technologies currently used in Australia.

(Grades 3 - 4;  5 - 6)

Workshop details

Enrolment fee

  • $24.50 per child for each 1 hour workshop (plus $0.50 Trybooking Fee).
     

Please note

  • Children must be booked into their correct school year level only.
  • Children attending multiple sessions must be supervised by a fully vaccinated parent/guardian during break times.
     

COVID safety

All Swinburne Wantirna workshops will be held in accordance with Victorian government COVID regulations. The wearing of masks is suggested. A fully vaccinated adult must sign in children to the workshops.  Parents and siblings will be encouraged to wait outside the building for the duration of the workshops. 

Full refunds will be given to those unable to attend due to COVID symptoms, awaiting test results or positive COVID cases in their households. Refunds will not be given to children who arrive with an unvaccinated parent/guardian who cannot enter the building.
