International Student Briefing – Winter Term

Welcome to Melbourne! We’re here for you.  

The International Student Briefing is your chance to meet the International Student Advisory and Support team – Swinburne’s dedicated expert team. 

Get all your must-have information to prepare for your time as an international student as you commence your studies in Winter Term. 

This session will commence with a panel of current Swinburne international students. You’ll also learn about the support available to you during your time as a Swinburne student. Each session will cover: 

• your health and welfare 
  
• community services available to you 
  
• support services available to you 
  
• how to get help with accommodation 
  
• your visa expectations 
  
• your rights and responsibilities 
  
• becoming familiar with moving around Melbourne. 
  

Bring your questions. Meet other international students. Get tips for life on campus. 

We’ll help you gain confidence and feel comfortable on campus before the start of Winter Term. You’ll also have the chance to meet staff from other support services as well as the Student Life team. 

Is this session for me?

This session is for all international students who are arriving in Melbourne for the first time. This includes: 

• students starting an undergraduate or postgraduate course in Winter Term; or 
  
• students continuing their studies in Winter Term.
