Registration and check in

Registration for your class opens outside the library on John Street. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to check in and find where to go for your first session.
PRO TIP: allow some time to get from the registration booths to where your first session is held.

10am – 12pm

Welcome to Swinburne and the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education

Get to know Swinburne and your new School as you hear from the Dean and meet your School staff. Hear from current students and ask them any burning questions you may have about life at university. Get set up with the tools you need to start your course and find out about all the support available to you.

12pm – 2pm

Explore your campus and meet your community

Grab your free lunch and chill out with your new friends. Check out the clubs and service stalls, and make sure you jump on a campus tour to get to know all the cool spots.

2pm – 4pm

The First Class Course Induction

Meet your teachers, learn more about your course, and get answers to your questions before you start. This is your chance to make connections as you meet other students from your course.

4pm – 6pm

Meet and Mingle

Wrap up the day at the Mingle event. During this time, you'll have the opportunity to meet and mingle with peers and student leaders from your School, and network and connect with staff over refreshments. Debrief with your new friends and get planning for your first week at uni!
