Session details

You’ll attend not one, but two different workshops and see how you could explore your passion at Swinburne. Choose from:

This workshop will introduce you to biomechanics: where medical engineering meets bionics. You’ll learn all about how mechanical and electrical engineers come up with solutions to medical problems. Design and build your own prototype of a bionic hand, then put it to the test with a challenge!

Take part in an exciting demonstration of science brought to life. This workshop will captivate your curiosity through a series of chemical experiments, including colourful transformations and explosive reactions.

Test your cyber skills against a range of defences and challenges. See if you can decipher the messages and find the hidden clues to gain full access. Recon the front, penetrate the middle, and crack the codes inside!

Visit the anatomy lab and immerse yourself in digital technologies like virtual reality to see how they revolutionise the way we understand anatomy. Interact with different bodily systems through virtual reality and perform digital dissections on touch screen Anatomage tables.

Calling all budding pilots! Get your hands behind the controls of a plane and take to the (virtual) skies in our flight simulator.

Compete against other students to design and build the lightest LEGO® catapult that can launch an object the furthest.

Discover how Swinburne’s Exercise and Sport Science students learn about anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning through a series of interactive activities.

Investigate how mechanical engineers are using ocean wave power machines to not only save beaches from erosion damage, but capture that energy and generate electricity.

There are hundreds of millions of pieces of space debris floating around in space, without any feasible way to take care of it – and we need your help to clean it up! In this challenge, you’ll work in groups to design a solution to reduce space debris.

Lift off your career in business and explore the management side of aviation. This interactive session will give you a taste of life as an aviation businessperson and teach you how to navigate the turbulent terrain that surrounds it.
