Overview
Embark on an enriching learning journey in Singapore, where you can enhance your knowledge through a variety of dynamic courses at our esteemed partner university, Nanyang Technological University, ranked among the top 1% globally.
This Short-term Exchange program spans 2-4 weeks, offering a distinctive global perspective in one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities. As an exchange student studying at NTU's Summer School, you'll engage with a diverse student community, broaden your horizons, and forge lasting connections.
All classes are conducted in English (except language courses), allowing you to earn academic credit towards your Swinburne degree- where you'll complete 1 unit in as fast as 2 or 4 weeks!
Beyond the classroom, you'll be able to discover the beauty and culture of Singapore. From iconic landmarks to delicious cuisine, every day promises a new adventure!
Courses offered
Choose 1 or 2 courses from the following study areas (tracks):
- Language and Cultural Studies
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Creative Design and Media
- Success in the Globalised Marketplace
- New Technologies, New World
Note: Students are allowed to register up to 2 courses within each track or across different tracks. However, make sure that there are no clashes in the timetables between the courses.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for this program, students must:
- be enrolled into an Undergraduate degree
- meet the overseas exchange program eligibility requirements
- have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- meet any pre-requisites listed by the host institution and for the courses you choose
Academic credit
You are able to take this program as credit for one or two of your elective units. Alternatively, you may be able to use core units for this program, subject to approval from your Course Director.
Credit equivalence
3 or 4 AU credits = 12.5 CP (1 unit) at Swinburne
8 AU credits = 25 CP (2 units) at Swinburne
Costs
Program cost: SGD $1,070 (approx. A$1200)
This program cost is paid to the host institution and includes the following:
- Registration and administration fees
- Campus orientation
- Cultural & social activities
- Mandatory Group Hospitalisation and Surgical Insurance (GHSI) for International students
Accommodation fees:
- 2-week stay: SGD $510 (approx. A$590)
- 4-week stay: SGD $930 (approx. A$1,070)
The host university will be able to provide further information upon application.
Note: Tuition fees to the host university are waived for students completing a short-term exchange program at one of our partner universities. You will continue to pay your regular tuition fees to Swinburne while you are on the program.
There may be other program costs incurred outside of tuition fees, including living expenses, airfares, and visas (if applicable).

Funding your overseas journey may be easier than you think
Swinburne Abroad Travel Grants
This program has A$1,000 Swinburne Abroad Travel Grants available.
This grant can help offset travel and living expenses for your overseas internship and are available to both Domestic and International UG or PG students. Students can apply for a grant as part of the application process.
OS-HELP Loan
Eligible Australian students can also apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of up to A$8,817 (depending on your program destination) to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.

Application
Students must first apply to Swinburne Abroad following the short-term exchange application process. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.
