Overview

This study tour provides students with an insight into cultural, political, and regulatory environments within Vietnam. Participating in various activities and site visits, students will apply their knowledge to real world challenges to provide tangible outcomes for local communities and build their capacity to pursue a career in entrepreneurial practice or be an innovative member of a social enterprise.

Highlights

  • Attend a welcome dinner and cultural orientation.
  • Discuss coastal environmental management at Son Tra Peninsula and My Khe Beach.
  • Tour Swinburne Vietnam campus and meet faculty and students.
  • Take a day trip to ancient Hoi An Town for a sustainable development tour and cooking lesson.
  • Visit social enterprises like Hopebox and KOTO.
  • Explore Hanoi, including Ba Dinh Square, Uncle Ho’s house, One-pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Train Street.
  • Meet representatives at Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce.
  • Enjoy a countryside Jeep tour to Bat Trang pottery village.
  • Experience an amazing overnight cruise in Halong Bay.
  • Visit the White Thai village of Mai Chau and stay overnight in a local homestay

Funding

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants

This program has 14 x A$3,000 Australian Government New Colombo Plan grants. These grants are available to Australian undergraduate students (with no citizenship or residency rights to Vietnam), who have not previously received an NCP short-term grant.

Grants are allocated on a rolling basis and students are automatically considered for a grant as part of the application process.

OS-HELP Loan

Eligible Australian students can apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of up to A$9,504 to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.
