Swinburne and Medibank have come together in a first-of-its-kind partnership touching on all aspects of Swinburne’s business and 2025 Strategic Plan.
The three-year partnership not only supports the health and wellbeing of the Swinburne community, it also creates opportunities for strategic collaboration between the two organisations.
These opportunities include research, support for career development, and a continuation of the corporate education program offered by Swinburne for Medibank employees covering leadership, management and customer service.
“The health and wellbeing of all members of the broader Swinburne community is very important to us,” says Vice President (Students) Dr Andrew Smith.
“This partnership will provide a focus on the overall wellbeing of our staff. It will also open opportunities for developing research projects, drawing on Swinburne researchers’ expertise in digital health with a focus on improving student stress and academic outcomes,” he says.
Medibank General Manager Becky Hyde welcomed the opportunity to extend the relationship with Swinburne to beyond the delivery of health insurance.
“Medibank is excited to share our broader expertise in health and wellbeing to support Swinburne’s students, staff and alumni, and work collaboratively to drive health innovation in the wider community,” she says.
Under the partnership, Swinburne staff, students and alumni will have access to benefits and discounts across Medibank’s insurance range, including health, pet and travel insurance. Medibank will also be the preferred provider of Overseas Health Cover to international students at Swinburne.
