Swinburne has been ranked among the top 450 universities globally by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Placed at 441 overall, this ranking positions Swinburne in the top three per cent of universities worldwide.
This year, Swinburne has again been ranked highly by a number of globally recognised ranking organisations.
- The QS World University Rankings ranked Swinburne in the top 400 universities globally, improving its position in by 34 places to 387th.
- The highly-regarded Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked Swinburne in the top 390 of the world’s universities.
- Swinburne also debuted in the top 50 of the QS rankings for the world’s top universities under the age of 50, positioned at 45th.
- Most recently, Swinburne received a 5-Star Overall Experience Rating and a 5-Star Staff to Student Ratio Rating from the 2019 Good Universities Guide.
Swinburne’s world-leading and internationally recognised research is reflected in recent initiatives, including:

Swinburne’s strongest performing pillar was International Outlook, placing in the second decile overall.
