Effects of a biofactor-combination on cognitive function in mildly cognitive impaired patients
About this study
Researchers at the Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences are investigating whether daily supplementation with a combination of vitamins and minerals for 24 weeks can be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of symptoms of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Preclinical studies suggest that targeted supplementation with the combination of vitamins and minerals included in the current study treatment could be helpful in stabilising MCI and possibly delaying its progression to more severe forms of cognitive deficits, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
The current study therefore aims to investigate the benefits of an increase in these vitamins and minerals on cognition, as well as their influence on mood and biomarkers of brain health.
