Information about Conceded Passes
For eligibility criteria, see Academic Course Regulations 2013, Chapter 5 Part 3 Grading - Conceded Pass:
- An undergraduate student enrolled in an award course may graduate with a maximum of one conceded pass in a course.
- A conceded pass cannot satisfy a prerequisite requirement.
- A conceded pass is not available to a student enrolled in a single unit of study.
- The final result must be between 45 and 49.
Information for ELICOS students
ELICOS students cannot apply for a conceded pass as it is awarded as part of the results process if they meet all eligibility criteria.
Students may be awarded a Conceded Pass so that they can progress to the next level of their ELICOS program if:
a. Their overall score is 65% (or above) but their score for one skill area (except for writing) is between 55–59%
b. they did not enter the current unit based on a Conceded Pass; and
c. their attendance has not fallen below 80% for the unit (unless compassionate or compelling circumstances are present).
Students cannot successfully complete English for Academic Purposes Level 4 (Upper Intermediate) (EAP4B) and English for Academic Purposes Level 5 (Advanced) (EAP5B) with a Conceded Pass.
