Business Process Analysis
Overview
This unit aims to teach students the key concepts of business process analysis, modelling and management, and their importance to an organisation. Students will learn how these processes support a wide range of business activities including activities involving external organisations such as occurs in supply-chain management. The skills required to model business processes will be taught, with a focus on ensuring that the logic of the model reflects the real-world industry case it is representing. Business process management approaches, methodologies and modelling techniques will be discussed and the insights they afford organisations will be explored through real world industry cases.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Define and describe the concepts of business process, business process value, improvement, reengineering and workflow
- Analyse how process improvement technologies and business process management support the enhancement of an organisation's business objectives
- Conceptualise an organisation in terms of its business processes and show how business processes enable organisational strategy
- Apply appropriate methods, tools and techniques to develop organisational efficiencies through process improvement
- Communicate effectively as a professional and function as an effective leader or member of a team
