Engineering Management Project
Overview
This unit of study aims to introduce students to the principles of management to enable them to function effectively and efficiently in modern organisational roles within a changing environment. The unit will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet industry expectations in project management roles through a real world project. The unit aims to assist students to develop self-awareness to support professional purpose and design, and to manage their careers.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Analyse organisations and compare and contrast them in terms of their management decision making, structure and strategy, along with the environments in which they operate. (K5, A1, A2, A4, A5, A6)
- Apply and relate basic project management concepts to a given project. (K6,S4, A2, A6, A7)
- Describe and appreciate the concepts of organisational behaviour, team dynamics and an understanding of self and other people. (K5, A6, A7)
- Apply tools to plan, manage and evaluate projects, including the Critical Path Method (CPM). (S4, A2, A6)
- Describe the fundamentals of safety, compensation process, risk management and sustainability. (K6, A5)
- Reflect on their capabilities to develop professional purpose and plan their careers (A6)

Hurdle
As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all Unit Learning Outcomes to a minimum standard, a student must achieve an aggregate mark of 50% or more.
Students who do not successfully achieve hurdle requirement will receive a maximum of 45% as the total mark for the unit.
