Prerequisites
TNE80005 Mobile and Personal NetworkingAims and objectives
The unit will be offered from 2019 onwards. The unit is not offered in 2018.
This unit allows students to develop skills and expertise in the underlying network requirements and devices to support the Internet of Things (IoT).
Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Analyse the key components of the Internet for Things (I4T) that support the Internet of Things (IoT);
2. Appraise the existing and emerging networking technologies that underpin the IoT
3. Assess the security issues associated with the I4T;
4. Appraise various I4T technologies and assess their suitability for real world applications;
5. Design and construct an IoT and supporting I4T system comprising sensors, network connections, actuators, and develop the necessary control software.
