Neuropsychology Methods
Overview
This unit enables students to understand the field of neuropsychology, including the psychological and neurobiological disturbances associated with organic central nervous system dysfunction. Students will learn how to conduct neuropsychological assessments across a range of cognitive processes and disorders.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Articulate the theoretical and empirical bases of neuropsychological assessment for a range of cognitive processes
- Describe a broad range of clinical neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric conditions such as dementia, schizophrenia and traumatic brain injury
- Critically evaluate the scientific methods used to examine psychological and behavioural disturbances associated with central nervous system dysfunction
- Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking in relation to brain-behaviour relationships
- Analyse case studies for various neuropsychological disorders and report these in a professional manner
