Overview

This is the first of three professional experience units in the Master of Teaching (Primary). In this unit pre-service teachers will undertake a 20 day professional experience in a primary school under the supervision of an approved mentor. Pre-service teachers will involve themselves in the life of the school and reflect on their practice and performance supported by their in school mentor and university academic staff. In this unit, pre-service teachers will develop their understanding of relevant National and/or State or Territory curriculum documents, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant National and/or State or Territory codes of Conduct and Ethics.

Hurdle

As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:

  • To pass this unit, students must achieve a pass grade in both assessments
  • This is an external accreditation requirement
  • Both assessment tasks are pass/ fail
