Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Use an automatic level (K1, K3, S1)
  • Use a Total Station to undertake a traverse (K1, K3, S1)
  • Quantify a distance to an accuracy of 1:6000 or better (K1, K2, K3)
  • Quantify an angle/Bearing to an accuracy of 10” of arc or better (K1, K2, K3)
  • Quantify and analyse digital data and map it using GIS software (K1, K2, K3)
  • Generate high quality documentation and plans as part of a team (A2, A7)

Hurdle

As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:

(i) an aggregate mark of 50% or more, and(ii) at least 40% in the final exam.Students who do not successfully achieve hurdle requirement (ii) will receive a maximum of 45% as the total mark for the unit.
