You’ll need to formally accept your offer to secure your place to study at Swinburne. 

The process for accepting your offer is different depending on whether you have received your offer directly from Swinburne or through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

The process is also different for local and international students, so be sure to follow the steps that apply to you and the type of offer you have received.

You are a local student if you are an: 

  • Australian citizen

Accepting a direct offer from Swinburne as a local student

Before you start, you’ll need the following things on hand: 

  • Your offer letter email 

  • Your Tax File Number (TFN) or certificate of application for a TFN, if you are planning on deferring your fees. 

  • Your course planner to assist you with your enrolment

  • Your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t have one, you can get a USI here

  1. To begin, you’ll need to log into your student portal, My Swinburne.  
  2. If this is your first time logging in, you’ll need to set your password. Your email address will be your student ID, as it appears in your offer letter, @student.swin.edu.au. For example, 123123@student.swin.edu.au. 

    If you’ve logged in before, use your existing password. Forgotten your password? You can reset your password here using your student ID.

  3. At Swinburne, we use multi-factor authentication (MFA) to ensure your login details and accounts are well protected. If you’ve never used MFA before, you’ll need to set this up on your devices now. Find step-by-step instructions for setting up and using multi-factor authentication here.  
  4. Now you can log in to My Swinburne.
  1. To check that your student details are up to date, select the My Details tile. Not all details will be editable, as some will have been confirmed during the application process. 

  2. Update your details where necessary and click Save

  3. To return to the homepage, click the home icon.

  1. Select the My Applications tile. Your offer will be listed here as ‘offer awaiting response’. Click on your offer. 
  2. Check the details of your offer as listed. Click the Accept button to accept your offer. If you would like to defer or decline your offer, select the More button. 
  3. Once your request has loaded, you will see a success message. The status of your offer outcome on this page should now read ‘accepted’.

Accepting VTAC offers

The process for accepting your VTAC offer will be different depending on your chosen level of study (Vocational Education, UniLink or Higher Education). The offer guides below will outline the steps you need to take to formally accept your VTAC offer and also any pre-enrolment requirements.

Accepting a direct offer from Swinburne as an international student

Before accepting your offer, please ensure you have paid your university deposit and Overseas Student Health Cover if you have chosen to purchase it from Swinburne. If you received a conditional offer from Swinburne, please get the extra documentation ready. 

Are you receiving a financial sponsorship?

If you're sponsored by a government, organisation or company to study at Swinburne, please submit the sponsorship registration form [PDF 90KB] when accepting your offer. This does not apply if you're sponsored by an individual.

Accepting offer for a research course?

Please complete our offer acceptance form [PDF 201KB] and submit to internationalres@swinburne.edu.auHandwritten forms will not be accepted.

1. Prepare your documents

You will need to complete your offer acceptance form (in your letter of offer) and your proof of payment for the deposit. You'll also need to include proof of payment for your OSHC (if you did not purchase it through Swinburne) and other documents listed in your conditional offer.

2. Submit your documents

Go to Swinburne's International Online Application System and select Respond to Offer (under Actions). Select Accept Offer and upload your offer acceptance form and other required documents.

If you are using an education agent, they can submit your documents on your behalf via the StudyLink Connect Partner Portal.

3. Wait for your Confirmation of Enrolment

Swinburne will send your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) to your student email account (and your Comprehensive OSHC from Medibank if you purchased it through Swinburne). You will need both your CoE and OSHC to apply for your student visa.
