Sir Reginald Ansett Scholarship - Aviation 2025

The Sir Reginald Ansett Scholarship for Aviation is offered to assist a student with costs associated with aviation studies, enabling them to realise their passion for an aviation career and full academic potential by reducing the need to work outside of study.

In 2025, there are three (3) scholarships available to be awarded.


Courses eligible

Single or double degree in Aviation or Aviation (Management) offered by Swinburne University of Technology.


Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the Sir Reginald Ansett Scholarship - Aviation scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Meet the following criteria:
    • be an Australian citizen
  2. Meet the following enrolment criteria:
    • have completed Year 12 in 2024 (or in 2023 and taken a gap year in 2024)
    • be a commencing first year Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2025
    • enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
  3. Achieved a minimum ATAR of 85.00 and provide ATAR certificate as evidence (criteria waived for students in Early Entry Program)
    • For current Year 12 students: You don’t need to wait until you have received your ATAR to apply. Once you have received your ATAR, please send through a copy of your ATAR certificate to scholarship@swin.edu.au to complete your application.
  4. Submit a personal statement (500 words) demonstrating a passion for an Aviation career 
     
  5. Provide evidence of financial hardship:
    • Centrelink statement
    • Payslips
  6. Written Reference: Once applications have closed and shortlisting has been completed, all shortlisted applicants will be contacted to provide a personal written reference. This reference should be submitted within 5 days of request and can be written by a teacher, community leader, or employer.

Value

The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year, for up to three years, paid bi-annually.

Three (3) scholarships are available to be awarded.

Applicants should complete an online application form and submit with all supporting documentation by 16 March 2025.
