Overview
This unit will introduce students to the fundamental principles and practices of key frame animation. Students will study and explore the application of these principles using a range of 2D animation methods such as paper, computer and stop-motion. Upon completion, students will be able to articulate and demonstrate how the principles of animation are used to craft believable movement.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Describe the principles of animation, and demonstrate their application within practice
- Use sequential drawing techniques to convey the convincing movement of objects and characters
- Apply basic observational, analytical and drawing skills to simulate the form, volume and motion of real world objects
- Choose from a range of animation tools and production techniques to develop an animation outcome
- Apply a systematic approach to the planning and production of an animation outcome
