Overview

To facilitate further training to consolidate the procedural aspects of IFR cross country flight and / or to further consolidate proficiency in departure, en-route and arrival procedures in the conduct of commercial operations under VFR and IFR.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

Be able to plan a flight considering all commercial legal operational requirements, based on accurate meteorological analysis, including en-route and take off and landing performance
Be able to prepare the aircraft including determining complete aircraft serviceability, fuel requirements and loading procedures including carriage of dangerous goods
Be able to manage passengers during normal and emergency operations
Be able to safely conduct IFR and VFR cross country flights according to GFS standard operating procedures for normal and non-normal in-flight scenarios complying with all airspace requirements
Be able to demonstrate proficiency in the application of instrument flight, on full and partial panel
Attain a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane)
Attain a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Single-Engine Command Instrument Rating
