Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Describe and apply the basics of data acquisition system design (K1, K2, S1)
  • Design and implement a data acquisition project (K1, K2, S1, S2, S3)
  • Evaluate a range of engineering sensors and signal processing approaches and select instrumentation appropriate to the design requirements for a given application (K1, K2, K6, S1, S2, S3, A5)
  • Demonstrate programming skills in data processing, analysis and presentation (K1, K2, K6, S1, S2, A4)
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills to implement a specific project, safely execute experiments, generate high quality engineering report and deliver professional presentations (K6, S4, A2, A4, A5, A6, A7)
