Leadership and Facilitation of Innovation
Overview
This unit aims to develop students capability to lead and facilitate innovation practices that can be applied to various industry and project contexts. Leadership styles and approaches that empower others to realise their potential will be covered, emphasizing that the demonstration of leadership is not reliant on an official leadership role and/or title. Facilitation techniques for innovation activities will explore and identify new opportunities for innovation, as well as develop and demonstrate new ideas and their value. Students gain experience facilitating, designing, delivering and documenting a short workshop and/or sprint project for an industry project brief.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Critique attributes of an inclusive, innovation culture
- Develop relevant workshop or sprint project content to enable others to undertake innovation activities
- Facilitate others to engage in innovation activities
- Demonstrate leadership approaches that empower others
- Document outcomes of a workshop or sprint project
