Overview

This unit, together with LAW30027 Advanced Legal Research Project 1, provides students with a capstone supervised research experience. Students will research and write a substantial research paper on the topic identified in LAW30027 Advanced Legal Research Project 1. The unit gives students the opportunity to work closely with an academic with expertise in the student’s field of enquiry. It allows for engagement with a substantive area of law to research and write a research paper that is relevant to current legal issues. By the end of this unit students will have prepared a substantial dissertation on their chosen topic.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the legal issues relating to an area of the law, by developing arguments to address the research problem identified in LAW30027 Advanced Legal Research Project 1
  • Produce a research paper that adequately addresses the research problem
  • Manage and plan research time effectively

Content

Under the supervision of an academic member of staff the student will assemble a significant and original dissertation based on the research topic and research proposal completed in LAW30027 Advanced Legal Research Project 1.
