Scripting for Screen and Beyond
Overview
This unit introduces students to innovative scripted forms of storytelling. It explores writing techniques and technologies for a range of new and traditional story vehicles including serial and interactive narratives, complex TV, platforms such as TikTok, film, stage, creative non fiction, podcasts, and scripts for professional purposes. It also allows students to experiment with adaptation theory and encourages them to create their own industry standard scripted work.

Note
Students in the Bachelor of Arts (MJ-PCW Professional and Creative Writing Major) who have already completed 'LIT30002 Graphic Narratives: Comics, Graphic Novels, and Manga' will receive credit for it.
New students will ONLY be allowed to complete this units - LIT30006 Scripting for Screen and Beyond
New students in Professional and Creative Writing Major and Creative Writing and Literature Major can take LIT30002 Graphic Narratives: Comics, Graphic Novels, and Manga' as an elective.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Synthesise complex ideas into creative forms using industry standard script writing techniques
- Analyse canonical and popular examples of scripted narratives
- Apply theoretical and creative approaches to scriptwriting
- Explore professional script writing techniques and technologies for a range of new and traditional story platforms and marketing campaigns
