Overview
This unit examines the principles of training to enable students to safely design, monitor and evaluate Aerobic and Anaerobic training for individuals and groups. This unit specifically develops the practical skills associated with exercise prescription and delivery for a client.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Develop practical skills in the assessment of health and fitness and exercise prescription
- Design, implement and evaluate safe exercise programs tailored to the needs of the individual
- Apply theoretical knowledge to the prescription and delivery of exercise for healthy, at risk populations and athletes
- Understand the scope of practice for an exercise and sport scientist

- Assessment of exercise clients using valid and reliable tools
- Core instrumentation and technology for monitoring and assessment
- Periodisation for the design of exercise programs
- Body composition assessment (i.e., skinfold, girth measures, BMI)
