Studying astronomy at Swinburne taught Laurel to read and interpret academic papers on planetary science – a skill that enhances the quality of her science writing. She says studying online worked with her schedule while allowing her to meet fellow students from all around the world. Debating complex ideas with classmates who shared her interests was one of the highlights of her course. Next, Laurel wants to complete her master's degree in astronomy and contribute to prominent science publications.
