Integrated Professional Placement B - Business
Overview
The aim of this unit is to provide students with an advanced, second six month work integrated learning experience that will further develop their understanding of the applied discipline and have an opportunity to collaborate in generating solutions to complex industry challenges, leading to advance their workplace collaboration, communication practice and career development that informs, enhances and improves future practice. This unit requires students to reflect on their professional placement experience to draw links with discipline knowledge and document the development and growth of their work integrated learning capabilities. Students are provided with supervised and directed experiential learning opportunities in the real-world context of their professional placement.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Independently apply disciplinary knowledge and methods to complex challenges within a supervised workplace context
- Effectively apply a range of strategies for communicating, completing tasks, and relating well with others to contribute to solutions to complex industry challenges.
- Enact ethical principles in the workplace context.

Hurdle
This is a Pass Only unit and you must submit and pass all assessment to be awarded a pass.
Students must submit and pass all the PASS ONLY assessments in Work Experience in Industry B.
Content
This unit is undertaken concurrently with Work Experience in Industry B. Together the units provide supported work-based learning in a real-world context.
In this unit students will:
- build on the previous units of study to continue work in the industry or community placement to which they are assigned, under the supervision of an Industry Supervisor
- with guidance from a discipline-specific Swinburne Academic Supervisor, reflect on their professional placement experience to draw links with discipline knowledge and evidence the development and growth of their work integrated learning capabilities
- be required to respond to feedback from stakeholders in ways that inform and improve future practice
- undertake structured assessment for learning that will allow students the opportunity direct their learning and reflect on it, leading to advanced capabilities in applying discipline to practice, practice of work and career development practice.
