Business Innovation in America Study Tour
Overview
This unit aims to familiarise students with the issues, debates and processes of working and doing business in America and their possible impact on Australia. This unit investigates innovative practices and business issues in the US, visiting areas such as Silicon Valley and Silicon Beach to look at how innovation is conducted in America and the tolerance to risk. In addition, the study tour visits social impact hubs to investigate the role of social impact in America. Students develop an appreciation and understanding of approaches towards doing innovative business and networking in America.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Demonstrate an awareness of the main business bodies and their functions in the United States
- Display an understanding of the relationship Australia has with America
- Communicate proficiently in professional practice with a variety of audiences and work as an effective leader or member of a team
- Analyse the major current trade issues between America and Australia
- Reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes
