Overview

This unit provides training in the advanced communication skills that emerging researchers need to build their research capacity and to enhance their employability. These include skills for writing and oral presentation in a range of scientific research genres, including journal articles, theses, research seminar presentations, pitches to industry and funding proposals. The unit also provides opportunities for developing technical writing skills and advanced English language proficiency.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

Hurdle

As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:
