Overview

This unit aims to develop students’ skills for the integrated management of the whole construction project from planning, estimating, tendering, contracting, and achieving performance objectives, such as costs, schedule, quality, safety, and environmental sustainability.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Prepare and evaluate estimates and bids/ tenders for construction projects
  • Use metrics/tools for controlling costs and provide advice to clients/ stakeholders with cost reports and value optimisation agenda
  • Formulate and evaluate contractual and payment frameworks in different construction project procurement arrangements
  • Develop integrated cost and schedule analyses for resource optimisation and enhanced value
  • Develop and evaluate construction management systems and practical procedures/ methods
