Cybersecurity Project
Overview
The overall aim of this unit is to give students the opportunity to conduct a practical study in cyber security management that will require the application of many skills and concepts gained throughout the course. Students will complete a project that considers the new and emerging techniques in the management of cyber security operations. Students will draw on the current research in the area of cyber security management to develop strategies leading through technical and social engineering influences, to solve a complex industry related problem or opportunity.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Apply problem solving, design and decision-making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to a simulated cyber security problem with intellectual independence that meets the requirements of the industry relevant problem
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the terminology, classifications, technologies and consequences of cyber security threats and attacks
- Recommend and plan a range of the security controls and mitigation strategies to protect on-line and stand-alone computer systems
- Apply appropriate research methods for developing strategies to be used to manage the investigation, testing and response to cyber attacks, data breaches and security threats
