Overview
The fashion industry continually changes as new technologies are developed and implemented. The objectives of this unit are to explore new and emerging technologies that both influence the fashion industry and assist in solving complex issues while enhancing creativity and textile design abilities. Students apply technology to design innovative fashion outcomes such as smart garments, wearables and soft goods.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Identify and analyse emerging technologies in fashion and textile design
- Evaluate the impact of these technologies on design processes, aesthetics, and functionality
- Critique the ethical and sustainability implications of using emerging technologies in the fashion and textile industry
- Design and prototype innovative fashion and textile solutions using emerging technologies
- Communicate and present fashion concepts and designs visually and effectively
