Computer Aided Drafting and Design
Overview
This unit of study sets out the knowledge and skills required to apply Computer Aided Drafting using 2D techniques for engineering applications. This includes complex and advanced applications of Computer Aided Drafting systems.
Requisites
27-October-2024
Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Prepare and generate professional engineering drawings using a common CAD software according to engineering standards (K2, S1, S2, A2)
- Demonstrate the use of basic 3D CAD drawings for engineering design (K2, S1, A2, K5)
- Demonstrate the ability to use CAD for engineering design projects (A2, A4, K5)
- Demonstrate ability to communicate engineering design outcomes using produced CAD drawings (A2, A4, A7)

Hurdle
As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:
(i) an overall mark for the unit of 50% or more, and(ii) completion of at least 50% of the Portfolio tasks.Students who do not successfully achieve hurdle requirements (ii) will receive a maximum of 45% as the total mark for the unit.
