Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Design, construct and assess power electronic systems, such as solar photovoltaic systems (K1, K2, K3, S1, S2)
  • Use computer simulation tools to analyse power electronic systems (K1, K2, K3, S1, S2)
  • Collect and analyse experimental data, interpret results, formulate conclusions and generate laboratory reports (K1, K2, S1, A2)
  • Apply the basic concepts of power electronics to design the circuits in the fields of AC and DC drives, power generation and transmission and energy conversion (K1, K2, K3, S1, S2)
