Overview

This unit creates an understanding of a location’s vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem, builds capabilities in networking, negotiating, and an awareness of the most common business models and start-up related practices. Students will explore and develop an entrepreneurial outlook, as well as develop employment or start-up ready skillset, through the opportunity to engage with entrepreneurship ecosystems.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Apply appropriate theoretical principles applicable to the entrepreneurship ecosystem to evaluate problems and opportunities that might arise in the start-up contexts
  • Evaluate opportunities for entrepreneurial networking and resourcing within and through the entrepreneurship ecosystem
  • Develop the intellectual independence to be critical and reflective learners, who are cognisant of the relevance of entrepreneurship ecosystems to the business discipline
  • Work individually and collaboratively to actively and meaningfully engage with the entrepreneurship ecosystem
  • Reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes
