Overview
The unit demonstrates the importance of data-driven decision making and evidence-based management in the context of justifying HR and workforce-related initiatives. Students will learn how to gather and evaluate evidence, and present a strong business case. The unit also aims to develop digital literacy skills in the use of software to perform analytics.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Design effective procedures and instruments for collecting valid HR-data and empirical evidence in the workplace
- Identify and prepare different types of data as required to assist with HR-related problem-solving and decision-making
- Analyse, interpret and communicate patterns in qualitative and quantitative HR-related data individually and collectively
- Evaluate the extant literature and identify potential sources of cognitive bias in HR-related decisions
