Overview

This unit will analyse a selection of local media industry sectors and current and long-standing media public policy issues, including competition, ownership and control; censorship and classification; measurement of media use; and public and community media institutions. The unit improves students’ ability to participate effectively in media activities and industries as consumers, producers, employees and owners and to provide students with conceptual and practical tools for thinking about future trends and possibilities in media industries
