Leadership and Change Management
Overview
In this unit students will develop techniques to present themselves and their messages in a competent manner, take initiative and engage with people within and outside of their workplace. Workplace challenges and successes will be analysed, and the workplace BIM implementation roadmap further developed. This will be assisted by identifying the most appropriate strategies for managing organisational change. Students will learn strategies to effectively communicate and engage as part of a collaborative team and how to motivate and empower others. This will include responding to change-resistance, identifying risks and risk mitigation when introducing new processes and workflows.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Reflect on the development of individual skills, knowledge and professional practice, and career progression
- Analyse past performance when initiating a leadership role in BIM.
- Identify appropriate change management strategies to gain investment from decision-makers and to motivate others within the organisation
- Develop an updated BIM implementation roadmap that is in harmony with the workplace’s business, market and people strategies
- Demonstrate expert communication skills to articulate the value individuals bring to securing new projects and building working relationships
