Professional Practice 3
Overview
In this unit students will demonstrate advanced level professional skills including professional behaviour, high level communication, and self-management skills. In addition they will actively engage in reflection-on-practice including; evaluation of one’s own practice, identify and critique relevant resources for learning; and prepare for, and contribute to feedback sessions. Students will use a learning contract and journal to facilitate reflection activities. Students will apply client-centred reasoning processes, including relevant conceptual and professional practice theories and frameworks and apply best practice by searching, selecting and critiquing evidence. Finally, students will demonstrate beginning practitioner skills, in a sensitive, ethical and professional manner. Students will manage a case load of 4-6 clients.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

- Develops and maintains appropriate documentation at beginner practitioner level
- Actively engage in assessment/information gathering skills at beginner practitioner level
- Critique and apply intervention/services (individual/ group), define goals, coordinate and implement at beginner practitioner level
- Demonstrate skills in evaluation, self-evaluation and evaluation of intervention strategies
