Overview

In this subject students will choose, describe, apply and justify principles of assessment and intervention for individuals or groups of adolescents who are experiencing occupational performance challenges as a result of a musculoskeletal, neurological or mental health conditions. Interventions will be occupation based and focus on recovery and/or adaptation.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Select and apply an occupational therapy conceptual practice model
  • Select and apply professional practice models which will guide assessment and intervention planning
  • Synthesise person, environment and occupation factors to design an intervention plan for an adolescent or group of adolescents
  • Articulate professional reasoning and critique of evidence to justify intervention plan
